The Cost of Personal Training

One of the top excuses for not working with a Personal Trainer is that it “costs too much.” Although it may seem like it is hard to squeeze Personal Training into your budget, you would be shocked at how easy it can be! We did some research and found many ways we Americans spend money where it isn’t necessary. By pinching our pennies in some areas, we can certainly afford some extra TLC in our fitness regimen. And when you think about it – the cost of purchasing Personal Training doesn’t compare to the price you’ll pay not taking care of your physical health.

Here are some ways Americans are wasteful in their spending. Based on these statistics, we can calculate just how many sessions of Personal Training you could buy by making small adjustments in your budget.

The average household spends $975 on tv, radio, and sound equipment. That same amount of money could get you 15 half-hour sessions with a trainer. Similarly, The average American spends $2,504 on entertainment throughout the year. The same amount could get you 38 half-hour sessions with a trainer.

The average household spends $690 a year on pets, toys, hobbies, and playground equipment, which could be used on 10 half-hour sessions with a trainer.

The average person spends $1,476 on coffee throughout the year. The same price can get you 22 half-hour sessions with a trainer and still have $30 left over for a few cups of coffee!

The average person who smokes cigarettes spends $1,850 a year to feed their habit. The same amount of money can get you 28 half-hour sessions with a trainer.

The average person spends $457 on alcohol throughout the year. The same price can get you 7 half-hour sessions with a trainer and still have $50 left over to spend on some cute workout clothes!

MOST IMPORTANTLY: The average physically inactive American spends $1,437 more on medical expenses than physically active Americans. Instead of paying $1,437 on medical expenses throughout the year, you could spend that money on 22 half-hour personal training sessions, walk away with better health, and still have a few extra bucks!
